Story a day: 1.4.16

He took a heavy step. By the time his foot touched the ground, metal plates covered it like dragon scales. He took another and the plates covered his other foot, then climbed up his shin, over his knee, up his thighs. The plates fanned out, wrapping his torso in a shell that shone like moonlight on water.

Last, the scales reached his head, clambering up his spine, over his hair and finally down over his face, ending in a pointy protrusion that turned him reptilian.

He peered out, saw the world in red and picked his briefcase up off the pavement.
