Story a day: 2.20.16

Prompt: Today’s form is cascade.

The form is ABC – ABA – CDB – EFC, where A, B and C in the second, third and fourth stanzas are taken from the first stanza (the entire line, not just the rhyme scheme).

The desert does not change
In spite of shifting sand
We flee the sun and stone

Abandoning a cage
Built of laws and spires
The desert does not change

We race to damp land
Here everything can change
In spite of shifting sand

We’ll face this world alone
Leave fetters far behind
We flee the sun and stone
