Story a day: 8.22.16

First, you cut up the lettuce. Always a little less than you think you need.

The process is not as straightforward as it may seem. There is a first, but there are many seconds, countless thirds. After first, all numbering and ordering becomes meaningless. Eggs boil while olives are cut. Avocados get peeled while a dash of cheese rains over the lettuce. The eggs finish; a flurry more cheese patters down. Shells are peeled. The cutting board overflows, then abruptly empties.
