Monday Story: Secrets

The past week of my life has been… intense. I am hoping to get back on track with this blog. But I forgive myself for the past week.

We keep our secrets in the dark
Where all such things must lurk
The brand redder than a scarlet mark
And one you can not shirk
Like scars that never heal: white, stark
You are not allowed to forget
After you pass under the concrete arc
You are not allowed to repent

Because good little girls don’t have secrets
And good little boys don’t become secrets
